Colorado Refugee Connect (CRC) is an innovative community project aimed at better connecting newcomers in our community to their neighbors and new friends. CRC was conceived in 2016 in response to an overwhelming interest from the community to learn about, support, and engage with local refugee-serving organizations. The group aimed to better connect potential volunteers and refugee network service providers in Colorado.
CRC determined that a volunteer matching website would be the best solution to this challenge. The envisioned website would serve as a centralized location where the general public could learn more about refugees and match their skills and interests with volunteer opportunities with one or more of Colorado’s many refugee service providers.
The CRC website now engages a diverse group of refugee service providers and individuals through our unique volunteer-match technology and online volunteer training modules. The volunteer-match capacity allows users to capitalize on existing interests and skill sets to make meaningful community impact. Colorado Refugee Connect plays an important role in ensuring that Colorado remains a welcoming place for refugees who are rebuilding their lives and builds the necessary bridging social capital to support long-term integration and success of our refugee neighbors.
Colorado Refugee Connect is proud to be part of our state’s efforts to build positive relationships with each of our neighbors and community members, regardless of color, creed, language or country of origin.
