Workforce Development Intern

The African Community Center (ACC) is seeking a Workforce Development (WFD) Intern for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Team. The WFD Intern will assist the ACC TANF Liaison, TANF Case Coordinators and TANF Specialist with navigation and upkeep of TANF systems. TANF intern will assist newly arrived refugees in accessing benefits. As an intern, you will gain an understanding of timelines and processes refugees go through upon arrival, up to their 5 year service period. You will gain experience with navigation of social services available to refugees, increased intercultural communication and competency and experience working in a non-profit human services environment.
Schedule: 12-16 hours/week; 4-month minimum

ECDC African Community Center of Denver (ECDC ACC) was established in 2001 as a program office of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC). Over its 17-year history, ECDC ACC has served over 6,000 refugees, asylum seekers, special immigrant visa holders, and Cuban parolees.
