Zahraa Otaifah | Iraq
Zahraa Otaifah is a local photographer, single Autism-mom, and a recent immigrant. Originally from Iraq, Zahraa came to the U.S. on a Special Immigrant Visa and is a social activist who has participated in many social events that feature art exhibits. Zahraa sells her art pieces to fundraise to support communities in Denver and Aurora. She’s exhibited her storytelling photography projects at the Colorado Photographic Art Center and RedLine Gallery in Denver. Her family lives between Turkey and Iraq, but her 10-year-old son, Al, lives with Zahraa in Colorado. She previously worked as a Community Navigator at the Colorado African Organization and as a radio host on EDUCA Radio. In addition to her art, she serves as a professional Arabic interpreter and translator. Zahraa enjoys using her voice as an influence and positively impacting people’s lives through her life-changing and uplifting stories and art.
