Yusif Sardarzade

Yusif is a new Khan (Monarch) of the Talysh ethnic group, which is indigenous to a region shared between Azerbaijan and Iran which spans the South Caucasus and the southwestern shore of the Caspian Sea. Yusif was forced to flee Azerbaijan to the United States in 2018.  He is the Founder of The House of Talysh Khanate (Monarchy), which aims to study Talysh history and the peaceful struggle for the preservation of Talysh cultural and traditional values. He’s on staff with the International Rescue Committee in Denver. His goal is to see the autonomy of the Talysh Khanate (Monarchy) in the future.
