World Refugee Day
Each year on June 20th, people around the globe gather for World Refugee Day to honor the spirit and courage of millions of refugees worldwide.
This year, the Colorado World Refugee Day theme is Refugees Contribute. Refugees are skilled and talented individuals who commit their energy every day to building a stronger Colorado. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they are also serving our community as essential workers in food production, health care, transportation, and more.
World Refugee Day Colorado Panel Discussion:
In This Together: Refugee and Receiving Community Interconnectedness during COVID-19 and Beyond.
In this panel, we’ll explore how connected our refugee and receiving communities truly are, and how our collective wellbeing is interconnected. How has the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the ways in which refugees are at risk? What contributions are our new neighbors making to a stronger Colorado during the pandemic and every day? Together, we’ll explore the complex realities of forging a new life in Colorado and discuss ways we can continue to support one another in building stronger, more vibrant, and resilient communities.
